PhraseExpander can automatically correct your typos. For example, if you type accordingto followed by a space, PhraseExpander automatically corrects it to according to.
Autocorrects work automatically as you type, and are triggered when you type the misspelled text and press the space key or any trailing delimiter key. When an autocorrect is executed, a notification message is displayed.
Autocorrects are organized in glossaries. PhraseExpander comes with some predefined English autocorrects, and you can define your own, according to the spelling mistakes you make most frequently.
The Autocorrect editing grid
The Autocorrect editing grid displays:
- Misspelled text (maximum length: 30 characters): the text that needs to be corrected.
- Correct: the corrected text that will replace the misspelled text (press SHIFT+ENTER to enter multi-line text)
- Inside word: when checked, PhraseExpander will detect the misspelled text inside another word. The correction happens immediately after the last letter of the misspelled text is typed
To assign multiple misspellings to the same correction, in the Misspelled text column enter multiple words separated by the pipe character (|) like: abbout|abuot|aabout -> about
