Abbreviations and keyboard shortcuts can be assigned to Template glossaries and groups.
When a glossary/group is triggered by its shortcut or abbreviation, the contents of the glossary/group are displayed, similarly to what happens when typing the abbreviation associated to a template.
You can easily navigate the glossary/group structure from the Suggestions window.
A glossary or group can be invoked by typing the associated abbreviation or shortcut
To assign an abbreviation to a glossary/group
1.Select the desired glossary/group and double-click on the cell under the Abbreviation column
The cell opens in edit mode allowing you to type in the abbreviation
2.Type the desired abbreviation (or leave blank to remove it) and press the ENTER key to confirm
The new abbreviation is assigned to the glossary/group
To assign a shortcut to a glossary/group
1.Select the desired glossary/group and click on the cell in the Shortcut column
The Change Shortcut window is displayed
2.Select the desired shortcut (or Clear to remove it) and press OK to confirm
The new shortcut is assigned to the glossary/group
How glossary/group, templates abbreviations and shortcuts work together
1.Glossary/group abbreviations must be typed completely (even if SmartComplete is active). So, if the abbreviation associated with a group is tex you will need to type "tex" for it to appear on the screen.
2.Glossary/group abbreviations take precedence over the template abbreviations. When a glossary/group abbreviation is triggered, the templates that are using the same abbreviations are not displayed.
3.Glossary/group shortcuts take precedence over template shortcuts.
4.If two glossaries/groups have the same abbreviation or shortcut, PhraseExpander will show the one with the highest priority.
