The Instant search box gives you a lot of options to find templates. It also provides some advanced options to refine your search.
Here's the syntax:
field <operator> search term
field: the filed to search. If it's not specified, it searches all the fields.You can prepend to the field the minus (-) character to search for the templates that DO NOT contain a specific term
operator: used only when a field is specified.
search term: the terms to search (could be a single word or a phrase)
NOTE: you can also combine operators. For example, searching for a template with a specific abbreviation and description
Operators
= exactly matches the term. The field must be equal to the searched term
: the field must contain the search terms
Search term matching
1.all matching (e.g. term1 term2): returns all items that contain all the terms (separated by a space)
2.exact matching (e.g. "term1 term2"): returns all items that contain the exact search sequence
Searching templates
You can search in any field of a template (typing any word or phrase) or choosing specific fields:
Here's a list of the standard keywords:
•abb: searches the abbreviation
•desc: searches the description
•id: searches the template id
•content: searches the template content
Examples:
id = patient
Seaches for all the templates whose id is patient (exact match)
content: diabetes
Searches for all themplates that contain the term diabetes
content: "diabetes mellitus"
Searches for all templates that contain the exact term diabetes mellitus
diabetes mellitus
Searches (in any field) for all templates that contain both words diabetes and mellitus
diabetes -mellitus
Searches (in any field) for all templates that contain diabetes but doesn't contain mellitus
Searching autocorrects
Here's a list of the standard keywords:
•misspelled: searches the misspelled field
•correct: searches the correct field
Examples:
misspelled: addres
Searches the word addres in the misspelled field
misspelled=addres
Searches for an exact match of the word addres in the misspelled field
IMPORTANT: PhraseExpander considers the = and : characters as operators so you cannot use them in your search query.
