Working with Autocorrects |
Top Previous Next |
PhraseExpander can automatically correct your typos. For example, if you type accordingto followed by a space, PhraseExpander automatically corrects it into according to.
Autocorrects work automatically as you type, and are triggered when you type the misspelled text and press the space key or any trailing delimiter key. When an autocorrect is executed, a notification message is displayed.
Autocorrects are organized in glossaries. PhraseExpander comes with some predefined English autocorrects, and you can define your own according to the spelling mistakes you make most frequently.
The Autocorrect editing grid
The Autocorrect editing grid displays: - Misspelled text (maximum length: 30 characters): the text that needs to be corrected. - Correct: the corrected text that will replace the misspelled text (press SHIFT+ENTER to enter multiline text) - Inside word: when checked, PhraseExpander will detect the misspelled text inside another word.
To assign multiple misspellings to the same correction, in the Misspelled text column enter multiple words separated by the pipe character (|) like: abbout|abuot|aabout -> about

Automatic corrections PhraseExpander automatically corrects your typing in the following scenarios: 1.Double uppercase at the beginning of a word: WElcome -> Welcome 2.Invert uppercase and lowercase chars (this happens when forgetting CAPS LOCK is on): wELCOME -> Welcome
NOTE: if you want to disable an automatic correction, enter the word or phrase you don't want to be corrected in the Misspelled text as shown below.
Adding this item prevents PhraseExpander from correcting JQuery to Jquery.
Disabling unwanted corrections If PhraseExpander performs an unwanted correction, you can remove the autocorrect using the edit last executed phrase function. Alternatively, you can: 1.Disable PhraseExpander in a specific application 2.Disable the Autocorrect glossary
