When selecting a template, PhraseExpander displays the details of that template, allowing you to edit its contents.
Template changes are saved automatically.
The quick edit pane
1.Variables: Shows the number of variables defined in the template (+ the number of referenced templates). Click to open the Manage variables window.
2. Open in the Template editor: opens the template in the template editor to provide more screen space and the ability to display more templates side by side.
3.Template contents: this text will substitute the abbreviation when the template is executed. PhraseExpander will interpret and execute any macros present in the text.
4.Description: this text serves as a reminder of the contents of the template in the templates list and in the Suggestions window. If you leave this empty, PhraseExpander will automatically display a description based on the contents.
5.Abbreviation: the sequence of letters that will trigger the template. When you type that sequence, in any application, PhraseExpander will show the Suggestions window, offering you the option to expand the abbreviation to the full text. You may not need to type the whole abbreviation if you have enabled SmartComplete. If you want the template to be activated immediately (without any confirmation) you can click on the Instant execution button .
6.Id: uniquely identifies the template. This is important when you need to reference a template from another template, for example when using variables or the insert template macro.
